MLTSSL & STSOL
TSS OCCUPATIONS LIST | 2020
NEW Occupations List (STSOL & MLTSSL) announced in March 2019 are now available to download. The combined lists feature over 400 eligible occupations. For those with a skill or qualification who wish to migrate to Australia, choosing the correct occupation, with the correct visa, is the first important step to migration.
Visa applicant should nominate an occupation from the Occupations List, when:
• Nominated by a State or Territory Government
• Direct entry stream | Employer Nomination Scheme Visa
• TSS Visa | Subclass 482
• Training Visa | Subclass 407
The fact your skill or occupation is included on the occupations list is not guarantee of a visa; firstly you must find an employer who is an Approved Standard Business Sponsor. Alternatively you may be eligible for a skilled independent visa or State or Territory nomination.

Australian Employer Sponsored Visa
One of the most common ways to secure residency in Australia is through an employer sponsored visa. These visas are designed to address existing skill shortages in Australia allowing overseas workers to fill local shortages in the labour force. If you have found, or are looking to find an employer who is willing to sponsor an overseas worker, then this may be the route for you.
To be eligible for one of the employer sponsorship visa options, your occupation should be included on the NEW Occupations List (2019) - MLTSSL/STSOL. Current examples of occupations that would be eligible for an employer sponsored visa include bricklayers, carpenters, electricians, dentists, nurse/medical, accountants and engineers. Be aware the list of occupations is amended to reflect government policy and or demand.
SHOULD I GO IT ALONE?
Employers Sponsorship
In this scenario you have found an employer who needs your skills and is willing to sponsor you. In general, a skills assessment is not required for visa grant but you occupation should be listed on the occupations list.

Once selected, you will then be invited to apply for an Australian visa. Applicant may be nominated by a State/Territory or an employer.
